INTRODUCTION

Uluhati is blessed by being located in an environment shrouded in natural vegetation typical of this region, i.e. the Equatorial Rainforest. The rainforest is a reservoir of a varied specie of flora and fauna whose beauty is mesmerizing and potential usage is limitless.

Yet in the midst of its beauty there exist an unwritten code on how best to navigate its uncharted paths and dense alleyways so that would be travelers arrive safe at their destination. Over the centuries the original inhabitants of these jungles have managed to decipher that code to enable them lead a symbiotic coexistence with the jungle. In this knowledge is a rich heritage which not only allows one to get from one hill to another but may hold the key to the overall well being of the eco-system.

Recognizing the importance of this heritage we feel it is time that some effort be made to preserve this knowledge and pass them on to the younger generation, to awaken the awareness of the gifts that the Almighty has bestowed upon us in the environment.

Concurrently today's sedentary lifestyle has led the younger generation to seek new options to break their predictable routine. The trend has been to focus on outdoor adventure activities such as camping, trekking, survival training, archery, etc,Recognizing this search what better way to address this than to offer a set of activities considered unique in its own way, experienced in the midst and in synch with the Malaysian Rainforest, at the same time build and enhance certain personal and group values by way of leadership qualities and teamwork.

We are also fortunate to have with us staff members who have dedicated a major part of their life serving the country in one of the elite branches of the Malaysian Armed Forces. The knowledge of jungle survival possessed by the Malaysian Armed Forces is acknowledged worldwide.

An effort to provide Malaysians and others an opportunity to get up close and personal with the rainforest at the same time experience and take home new experiences and skills. Whilst the skills in themselves may not be directly useful in their daily life, it is the life lessons from these skills that may help them in the street, offices and their homes.
